Sonic Collective

2-Month Group Mentorship
Limited to 6 Producers

You don't need more production tips. You need to understand what's actually holding your music back, and have the space to work through it.

The problem you notice first isn't always the real problem.

Maybe you're struggling with your mix. Your arrangements don't develop the way you want. You keep second-guessing decisions. You can't finish tracks. Or technically, you know what you're doing, but something still isn't translating.

Sonic Collective gives us two months to get underneath those problems and work on what actually matters.

Across four live fortnightly sessions, you'll work directly with Thomas Datt in a small group of no more than six producers.

We'll listen. Diagnose. Identify what deserves attention. Then you'll go away, implement, and bring what happens next back into the room.

Because you don't need to fix everything at once. You need to understand what matters now, work through it, and see what becomes clear next.

Six Producers. Four Sessions.

Two Months.

This isn't a large online class where you disappear into a sea of faces.

Sonic Collective is deliberately limited to six producers.

Your own music, creative process and current challenges become part of the work. Thomas can listen directly, explore what's happening with you, give personalised feedback and help you identify what deserves your attention between sessions.

But you won't only learn from your own time with Thomas.

You'll also hear him work through the music, decisions and challenges of the other producers in the group.

Sometimes the problem Thomas uncovers in somebody else's music is the exact thing you needed to recognise in your own.

Your development is individual.

The learning is collective.

What Can Change in Two Months?

Sonic Collective is designed to help you make meaningful progress in your music while developing a clearer understanding of how you work as a producer.

Over the four sessions, you may begin to:

  • Hear your music more clearly and recognise what is actually preventing it from working.

  • Make creative and technical decisions with greater confidence instead of repeatedly second-guessing yourself.

  • Understand the habits, blind spots or recurring problems that keep appearing across your productions.

  • Know what deserves your attention now, rather than trying to improve everything at once.

  • Develop a stronger process for moving through difficult sections, unfinished tracks and periods of creative resistance.

  • Become less dependent on outside opinions because you understand your own music and decision-making more deeply.

The specific work will be different for every producer because it begins with your music, your process and the challenges you are facing now. The aim is to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence and independence.

- A 15-MINUTE LISTEN -

BEFORE YOU DECIDE, LISTEN TO THIS

If you have been producing for years but still feel as though something is preventing your music from becoming what you know it could be, this is for you.

You do not need to have everything figured out before joining. You only need to be willing to look honestly at what is keeping you stuck and do the work required to move through it.

Is Sonic Collective Right for You?

Sonic Collective is for producers who already make their own music and understand the basic tools of production, but feel that something is preventing their work from developing in the way they want.

It may be right for you if:

  • You are actively working on your own tracks and are willing to bring them into the sessions.

  • You keep encountering the same creative or technical problems without understanding what is causing them.

  • You struggle with second-guessing decisions, finishing music or translating what you hear in your head.

  • You are open to honest, specific feedback and willing to apply what you discover between sessions.

  • You value learning through the experiences, music and questions of other committed producers.

This is not a beginner production course or a fixed series of tutorials. Thomas will not teach you to copy his sound or tell you what kind of music to make. The work begins with your music and helps you develop your own judgment, process and direction.

Still unsure whether the group is right for you?

Why Work With Thomas?

Green and Gold Music Studio Setup.png

Thomas Datt has spent more than two decades writing, releasing and refining electronic music. His debut release, 2V2, arrived in 2004 and led to international recognition, but his experience as an artist has not been a straight line.

He has lived through creative momentum, self-doubt, disconnection from music and the process of consciously returning to it.

That experience allows him to understand the technical problems inside a track as well as the creative and personal patterns that can prevent a capable producer from moving forward.

Thomas listens for what the music is trying to communicate, where that intention is being lost and what is creating the greatest resistance. He can identify structural, emotional and technical problems quickly, then help you understand what deserves your attention.

The goal is not to make your music sound like his. It is to help you hear your own work more clearly, strengthen your judgment and develop a process you can continue using without him.
