- 01 // THE SYMPTOMS -
When Making Music Turns Into Overthinking
You started with a feeling. Then your mind took over.
THE SPARK
You create a loop, melody or groove that feels fucking great.

You're not thinking about where it's going. You're just making music, following the feeling and enjoying what comes through.
THE RABBIT HOLE
Then comes the question:
“What do I do next?”
You start tweaking, comparing and second-guessing. Ten minutes becomes an hour, and somehow you're no closer to an answer.
THE DISCONNECT
Eventually, you've lost the feeling that made the idea exciting in the first place.

You're frustrated, the track feels different, and what started as creation has become a problem you're trying to solve.

- THE SHIFT -
You Don't Need to Think Harder.
When you're stuck in the rabbit hole, trying harder can take you even further away from what made the music work in the first place.
The answer isn't always another technique, tutorial or production trick.
Because somewhere between creating something that felt fucking great and trying to figure out what to do with it, something changed.
You stopped responding to the music and started trying to solve it.
And the more you analyse, tweak and second-guess, the harder it can become to feel what was there in the first place.
So what do you do when you've lost that connection?
That's exactly what we're going to explore in this workshop.
Maybe the answer isn't more thinking.
Maybe you've been trying to solve the wrong problem.
- INSIDE THE WORKSHOP -
What We'll Explore Together
WHY YOU GET
STUCK
What's actually happening when a great idea turns into hours of second-guessing, tweaking and going nowhere.
WHEN MORE KNOWLEDGE ISN'T THE ANSWER
Why knowing more about production doesn't always help you move forward, even when the problem feels technical.
FINDING YOUR
WAY BACK
A different way to approach those moments when you've lost the feeling and don't know where the music should go next.

THOMAS DATT
Electronic Music Producer Artist & Mentor
Thomas Datt is an electronic music producer, DJ and mentor with more than two decades of experience creating and releasing music professionally.
But after all those years in the studio, he still gets stuck. He still overthinks. He still catches himself disappearing down creative rabbit holes.
The difference is that he's learned to recognise when it's happening and find his way back before the thinking takes over the music.
That's the perspective behind Temple of Sound, where he helps producers understand what's actually keeping them stuck instead of simply throwing more techniques at the problem.
